AbitAbyss is a humoristic pro-Abitibian brutal/death/grind/old school black metal band who was born in 2004. This wonderful adventure started when Réal Cassegrain (ex-ROTTEN COW), who had financial problems due to the mad cow disease at that time, moved in with Raoul Rochon (ex-BLOODY MUCK PILE). Their passion for traditional professions, the awesome attractions of their beautiful land and extreme metral in general brought them to create a simple yet intense music. It’s in Rochon’s basement that our friend Cassegrain started to write, without any single break, his barbarian hymns. On his side, Rochon was knocking on his putty pad trying to build something concrete. The research of a name for the band wasn’t very hard... AbitAbyss was just too obvious.

In 2005, our two friends met up with a bassman called Armand Labranche... a logger coming from Villebois and ex-member of the cult group DEFORESTATION. Since he was forced to live in a forest camp many months a year in the north of Quebec, he was temporarely replaced by Régis Boisvert, another logger from Languedoc. Since many months now, AbitAbyss is a complete band willing to rock everywhere on the planet to show the entire world that the real world... is in AbitAbyss...
